Amazon's Kindle Fire Tablet Review

Amazon's Kindle Fire Tablet Review The Kindle Fire by Amazon arrived a day earlier than the launch date and has already left the gadget critics in a tizzy. Many have already opined that it is no near the Apple iPad but that is understandable considering the fact this tablet will sell for only $199. The iPad, on the other hand, enjoys a price tag of $499. The 7-inch Android powered tablet from Amazon is creating a new boundary in the low-priced tablet market. It is a new kind of tablet domain where the Kindle Fire is expected to rule for some time.

The reviewers have suggested that on the basis of looks the iPad is far better but Amazon may create a new niche at the bottom rung of the fiercely competitive market for tablets. However, the versatility of a real tablet is missing from Kindle Fire. It has no camera, GPS, microphone, Bluetooth, memory-card slot or a built-in calendar. The polish and speed of an iPad is definitely missing in the Kindle. The animations are said to be jerky too. In other words, you may feel the pinch when paying $199 for this one.

We are never emphasizing that Kindle Fire is a waste of money. But its performance and utility never satisfies the critics. At $200 you just cannot expect a miracle but Kindle Fire does deliver within its high limitations. In order to appreciate the Kindle Fire, you must first understand what all features you are getting for a mere $199. It is unnatural to ask everything that an iPad will give you. The Amazon Kindle Fire is a compact device that dwells on content consumption.

Experts have adopted a wait-and-watch policy to determine whether the Fire will have a long run in the market. The $200 to $250 range is considered to be a market for niche customers. Everyone knows that Apple is the market leader in tablets but Kindle Fire is within the reach of every common man. Since Kindle Fire is a product of Amazon, you can easily get an access to Android application and other such content.

Is there any reason for Apple to worry?

This is a tricky question. The answer can be both yes and no. The Kindle Fire is available at a very low price but since it is low on features it may not hurt iPad at all. Amazon has boasted that the demand for the device is very high but that can attributed to the super low price. There is a $300 difference between the two tablets so this is a major deciding factor for the consumers. But those who value quality and specs over price will definitely go for the iPad. Amazon Kindle Fire will start a different price war in the low-priced tablet segment. It does not have the firepower to unsettle iPad. But if Fire enjoys a fair bit of success, then expect some other companies to jump in with their low price models. It seems we will have to gear up for an interesting battle in the months ahead.
