MPlayer is a open source and free media player for Linux. This media player is available to all major operating systems like Windows, Linux and Unix-like systems. It supports and reads files DVD, VCD, PIPES, and other supported formats. In this article will show how to install MPlayer in RedHat, CentOS, Fedora and other RedHat based Linux systems.MPlayer Features :
- Supported file format MPEG/VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV and many other.
- It works with X11, Xv, DGA, OpenGL, SVGAlib, fbdev, AAlib, DirectFB.
- It supports wide range of output drivers.
- DVD subtitles (SPU streams, VOBsub and Closed Captions) are supported as well.

How To Install MPlayer In RedHat
1. To install MPlayer on RedHat, CentOS and Fedora you need enable RPMForge repository Here.2. Once RPMForge repository enabled, issue below command to install MPlayer.
[root@ravisaive.in ~]# yum -y install mplayer
How To Install MPlayer In Debian
1. To install in Debian use apt-get command.[root@ravisaive.in ~]# apt-get install mplayer
How To Install MPlayer In Ubuntu
1. To install in Ubuntu use apt-get command.[root@ravisaive.in ~]# apt-get install mplayer
How To Play MPlayer In Terminal
1. To play any file with MPlayer in terminal, issue below cmmand.[root@ravisaive.in ~]# mplayer filename
